Bass Music - the label

August 25

(download)

Well, all that free album business showed us that although we might look it, maybe we're not complete incompetents.  So before we cock it all up somehow, we've decided to start a label.  Baby steps at first, with a digital release to begin with, but I've got some good ideas so stick around.

We've got full digital distribution through EPM, but we're still going to be using the bandcamp page extensively.  With that site, we'll be able to offer a special package of stems, so people can download the full tracks, plus individual stems of drums, bass, FX etc, for the remixers, mashup artists and ableton crew.  Prices to be decided, but it'll be pretty cheap.  We'll also offer full, high quality artwork for each track (hi-res versions of the above) - again, this will only available from the bandcamp page.  I don't know why the digi shops can't handle stuff like this - you'd have thought in this day and age they'd be keen to try and offer some new cool stuff to keep people buying music.  Oh well, hopefully more people will buy things direct instead.  The artwork has once again been completely nailed by Nic Hamilton, and if you think those are good, wait until you see the animated versions on youtube.  Oh yes!

So anyway:  I present to you the debut release from Setspeed.  Two tracks from the deep side, these will be released next month in all good shops.  I would post the press release, but I'd prefer it if you just listened to them and decided for yourself.
