In addition to having the coolest name in the entire world, Clyde Stubblefield is possibly the funkiest man ever to have lived. His drums from James Brown's 'Funky Drummer' are amongst the most widely sampled of all time, and he also played on more classic funk tracks than I have space to list here. So, it was with a certain degree of sadness that I read he suffered kidney failure last year and is now forced to undergo weekly dialysis to stay alive. Fortunately, a group of fellow drummers in the USA have taken it upon themselves to set up an online donation facility, via which you can PayPal money directly into a fund set up to help support Mr. Stubblefield.
