I've just done a mix for the fine folks at This Is Breaks. It's a website dedicated to breaks music, which, y'know, hasn't been getting the best of press over the last year or 3. But I've been noticing lately, that there's plenty of music that could fall under the 'breaks umbrella', if people wanted to see it as such - from the likes of Seiji, Octa Push, Martyn, and plenty more. It's all 'broken beat', it's all funky, rolling stuff, it's all current, interesting, creative and relevant to what's going on today.
So, we had a bit of a chat/interview about what I thought concerning the whole scene, and I put together a mix about what I feel 'the breaks scene' these days should be looking to incorporate. In short, loads of cool beats, no Justice ripoffs, no trance, and a distinct lack of The Biggest Snare In The World. See what you reckon.
