RBMA Radio - Brackles & MJ Cole

Those two names are fairly arbitrarily picked, to be honest - apart from the fact that the Brackles mix just went up this afternoon, because there's so much to check.
The Red Bull Music Academy continue their mission to flood the world with a bunch of really interesting stuff, with RBMA radio. There is an absolute buttload of good and worthy shows on the site, more than enough to soundtrack your whole week, but my attention has been piqued by the aforementioned Brackles Mix, and MJ Cole's 'headphone highlights' mix, which takes us all the way from Acen and early Prodigy to Rachmaninov and Stevie Wonder. I love good influences mixes, and this is, indeed, good. Ha. Look at that prose, I should be a journalist.

Speaking of Radio, you may have heard about the upcoming reports that BBC Radio 6 and Asian Network are gonna be cancelled. Aside from the question of how that dude from the Times has seen this report when it's not due to be published for another few weeks, this is crass stupidity from the Beeb. Either you chase ratings and go lowest common denominator (Chris Moyles) or you go 'public service' and broadcast content that commercial stations wouldn't be able to touch. Suppose the Beeb has nailed their colours to the mast here but still. I could rant for pages here about the many reasons this is a) stupid and b) illogical but it wouldn't be fun, so I'll just direct you to the (sigh) Facebook group. (Is this what political protest has come to these days? Facebook pages? Sorry. It's the Rachmaninov in that MJ Cole mix affecting my moods).
