So I was having a rummage about in my iTunes just now when I realised just how many super awesome free tunes I've been getting via Soundcloud - have posted a few of of them up for you to check out. It's amazing how much free music there is out there now. I can still remember the days when someone giving away a free tune was almost unheard of...

Todd Edwards - I Might Be

Scion in the US - they're a big car company, or something to do with a big car company, or something like that. We don't really hear about them in Europe, but that's ok, I'll take their wares regardless. Anyway they're a big corporate company and they do loads of stuff in dance music; put on free shows, release free music and stuff like that. A bit like Red Bull do with their Music Academy, I suppose. This week they've released a free EP featuring an original by Todd Edwards, and remixes from Joy Orbison, MJ Cole and more. Brilliant. I think the original is my favourite but the Joy Orbison mix has a really nice musical sensibility to it, some odd but agreeable harmonies (*harmonic counterpoints actually. But, y'know. It's friday, let's not dwell) coming in halfway through.

Wookie - The Battle (MJ Cole Remix)

Remember Wookie's classic track 'The Battle' from back in 2000? Well, you should. Anyway, MJ Cole has clearly been having a root around his old hard disks because he's just unearthed his remix of the said track - which was never released at the time, but he's giving it away for free today. Quite a throwback - so much space in that mix! Such a chilled vibe! Club music like mother used to make.
