Top Billin: Playboy Anthem (Rico Tubbs VIP Mix) by bassmusic
Snap vs Rico Tubbs - Rhythm is a dancer
(Based on a true story)
Have you ever been in a promoters car in some far flung part of the world on the way to a gig? As he navigates some mountain pass on two wheels at 70mph, your trying to understand even just a couple of words of his pigeon english, while desperately trying to use hand signals to let the guy know your desperate for a piss after the 16 local beers you just got bought by him and his mates at the truck stop to accompany your dry blue meat and lettuce sandwich. While all this time his tinny sound system blasts his mates DJ demo. "Dis Gooood yeeeees" he shouts over the bur of the passing traffic with the drivers side window open as he smokes something that looks more like a manikins leg than a spliff. Then.......Silence. The music stops, and there seems to be peace in the world again. He turns to you and says, "Now, we goooo old schoooool".... What can this mean? you think to yourself... Old school what?
The "pish pisssh" sound of the ejected CD, then the small clatter of CD against plastic as he struggles to slot the next one in while still navigating with one hand and one eye closed due to manikin leg smoke. Finally the cd finds its slot and for the slightest of moments you grind your teeth and hunch your shoulders in expectation of some techno re-work's of the local folk music. (this has actually happened to me, and all 7 members of the promoters entourage that were squeezed into the VW golf sung along to all 10 tracks on the cd, while slapping me on the shoulder with massive smiles, one of them even did a solo in the breakdown and was applauded by his mates after) Then like a bucket of soft feathers being tipped on your head, the warm and comfortable first few bars of Snaps "Rhythm is a Dancer" strokes your ear drums with a comforting familiarity. Then everything feels right with the world again. your ignoring the fact he just overtook a coach into the path of an oncoming haulage lorry and managed to miss its speedy advance by merely inch's, and that your about to piss like a race horse in your levi's if you dont stop at what is considered a toilet in this country. but a hole in the ground in any other.

Heres something I made almost 2 years a go and had some talks to get it out on Top Billin.
Somehow the whole thing got forgotten and the track was gathering dust on my harddrive.
Then I heard the (brilliant) Mightyfools bootleg a while a go and thought I'd do a bit of a remaster of this one.
So here ....

Rico Tubbs - All Night Long (B'more edit) by bassmusic
Next Episode is one of those universal party tunes you can play anywhere.
This is actually 90% done by Will Power - I just tweaked the drums & bass sounds a bit and its maybe more of an transition tune than full on remix - Its good to have few of those just in case you want to drop few hip hop tunes in the middle of your set.
Also this one has the full track in the middle rather than the annoying few bars ( Whats with microwave djs droppin just one verse and one chorus anyway? The fact that you can do 30 second mixes with laptop doesnt mean you should - end of rant :) )
If you are in London area see you @ Egg Saturday!
Have a good weekend!

Dr. Dre: Next Episode (Will Power & Rico Tubbs edit) by bassmusic

1st official post! - let's see if I manage to mess it up :D
Just heard this rokcing the dancefloor in the middle of Sharkslayer techno set and
instant thought was to blend it with Maurice Joshua acid house classic.
Added some room to mix in and mix out as well.
More blends and bootlegs coming soon!
BASS=WIN!
